“This is the best show I’ve ever seen in my entire life,” is what Abed said when he saw his first thirty seconds of Inspector Spacetime. If he was impressed with that, he should see Travis Richey’s Untitled Web Series About a Space Traveler Who Can Also Travel Through Time. For starters, the production values are much better. And if you think that the low production values are what gives Inspector Spacetime its charm, don’t worry — you won’t be starved for camp.
The pilot episode, “Boyish the Extraordinary Part 1,” is chock full of subtle jokes. And, if you are still reading this and know what any of this means, you’ll appreciate those. A sign in the background of the opening shot reads, “No spoilers.” So I won’t reveal any more. You can watch for yourself after the jump.
As a pilot, this one does an amazing job of satisfying expectations, whetting the appetite for more, and somehow revering its source material and its source material, all while having fun with the fact that Ritchey has the rights to neither. See for yourself:
